“Shabab House” is a civil society organization concerned with youth. It started operating under the name “Shabab House Platform” in 2021 as a youth initiative. Shabab House platform seeks to create a media destination for Yemeni youth in order to highlight their voices and inspiring success stories that don’t find enough space to express their views, and to participate in all public and private issues related to Yemeni youth.
In addition, “Shabab House” seeks to integrate youth issues within the framework of the United Nations Youth Strategy https://bit.ly/3QDSpVr, and build a participatory strategy with all interested parties, at the local, regional and international levels, including Yemeni youth.

On the platform’s first anniversary, that coincide with the International Youth Day, August 12,                                      Mr. Asem Al-Shamiri, the head and founder of “Shabab House” platform announced the launch of “Shabab House” Foundation.

He said, “the announcement of “Shabab House Foundation”came based on our knowledge and experience in youth work, and our knowledge of the needs of young people and the youth arena that go beyond the platform’s competence to the need for an entity and institutional work that seeks in various fields related to youth.”

According to Al-Shamiri, the platform has accomplished many media works in a year in various fields and interests and has worked on conveying youth issues and highlighting their active roles, explaining that the platform has been working according to specific goals.

Through this activity, he said, we were able to reach a broad youth segment, which made us realize the various areas and youth interests that need to be contained within a platform.

He added, “this is what made us, on the first anniversary, turn into an institutional entity by establishing                “Shabab House Foundation” as a civic institution that is concerned with Yemeni youth of all categories and integrates their issues within the framework of the United Nations youth strategy.”

He stressed that the foundation will work to build a participatory strategy with those interested at the local, regional and international levels, including Yemeni youth.
